What is the best ATS-friendly resume template?

What does ATS-friendly mean?

Single-column layouts with standard section headings, no tables, no text boxes, no images, and selectable text (PDF or DOCX, never an image) are ATS-friendly.
Should I use LaTeX or Word for my resume?
LaTeX produces cleaner typography and is preferred in software engineering. Word is easier to edit and is universally accepted. Both produce ATS-safe PDFs if the template is single-column. Use whichever you are more comfortable with.
Can I use a two-column resume template?
