Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Specialist to lead the promotion and sale of industrial racking and warehouse storage solutions. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and sales acumen to identify customer needs, present innovative storage solutions, and drive revenue growth. Responsibilities

  • Meet with commercial and industrial customers to determine their warehouse storage, material-handling, and space-utilization requirements.
  • Conduct customer site visits and obtain measurements, ceiling heights, clearances, aisle dimensions, pallet information, equipment requirements, and other information required to develop storage solutions.
  • Recommend appropriate warehouse storage systems including selective pallet racking, cantilever racking, shelving, mezzanines, work platforms, wire mesh decking, pallet supports, guardrails, rack protection, and related equipment.
  • Provide technical sales support and explain different racking configurations, capacities, dimensions, materials, and system options to customers.
  • Review warehouse layouts, floor plans, elevations, CAD drawings, and racking drawings to determine suitable storage-system configurations.
  • Prepare material take-offs and calculate required quantities of frames, beams, wire mesh, pallet supports, row spacers, anchors, rack protection, and related components.
  • Prepare detailed quotations, proposals, budgets, and project scopes for new and used warehouse storage systems.
  • Estimate material, freight, installation, equipment, engineering, and other project-related costs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to confirm product availability, specifications, lead times, compatibility, and pricing.
  • Coordinate engineering reviews, Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSR), capacity documentation, and municipal building-permit requirements when applicable.
  • Work with engineers, designers, customers, and internal staff to revise warehouse layouts and storage-system configurations when required.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, material delivery, installation crews, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment required for installation.
  • Attend active job sites to verify site conditions, resolve installation issues, and communicate with customers and installation teams.
  • Manage multiple warehouse storage projects simultaneously from initial inquiry through project completion.
  • Maintain communication with customers regarding quotations, revisions, lead times, project schedules, installation, and project status.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing commercial and industrial customers and identify opportunities for additional warehouse storage solutions.
  • Provide post-sale technical support and assist customers with modifications, expansions, additional storage requirements, and replacement components.

Requirements

  • College diploma or university education in business, engineering technology, construction, project management, industrial technology, or another related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical sales, project coordination, or project management involving industrial equipment, material-handling equipment, or warehouse storage systems.
  • Direct practical experience with pallet racking and warehouse storage systems is required.
  • Knowledge of pallet-racking components including frames, beams, bracing, wire mesh decking, pallet supports, row spacers, anchors, guards, and related accessories.
  • Knowledge of warehouse storage solutions including selective pallet racking, cantilever racking, industrial shelving, mezzanines/work platforms, and warehouse safety products.
  • Ability to interpret warehouse layouts, technical drawings, elevations, measurements, and equipment specifications.
  • Ability to complete material take-offs and prepare technical quotations based on warehouse layouts and customer requirements.
  • Experience coordinating installation or construction-related projects involving customers, suppliers, installers, and technical professionals.
  • Understanding of engineering/PSR and building-permit coordination for warehouse storage projects is an asset.
  • Strong mathematical, estimating, problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to manage several quotations and active projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, CRM systems, email, and digital project-management tools.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence and ability to travel to customer warehouses and project sites throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions.

Pay: $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
