This role involves managing the financial and non-financial responsibilities of a branch, ensuring compliance, and leading a team to achieve business targets.
Financial Responsibilities
- Devise an action plan for the branch to meet liability business targets, including CASA book size, yield, fee-based income, and business quality.
- Effectively manage the sales and service environment of the branch.
- Actively identify and establish business relationships with retail customers.
- Strategize sales direction for cross-selling and sales planning, monitor and improve sales productivity.
- Organize various sales campaigns and promotions.
- Achieve business targets on book size, yield, fee-based income, and customer quality.
- Lead the branch team to achieve profit targets.
- Support an environment that promotes a welcoming, significant, and engaging customer experience.
Non-Financial Responsibilities
- Coordinate with BOSM and team leaders for business development.
- Adopt a customer-centric approach and deepen customer relationships.
- Supervise daily branch functions, including vault, drawer, and ATM balancing.
- Oversee teller and customer service duties, assist with customer transactions.
- Provide guidance and support for new product launches.
- Ensure business turnaround time superior to competition, in line with bank standards.
- Monitor and control the cost of acquisition of local sales channels/FOS and branch expenditures.
- Manage branch administration and ensure ethical practices in acquisition and servicing.
- Monitor branch performance weekly in terms of business targets achieved.
- Responsible for efficient operations, customer service, and marketing for all retail banking products.
- Develop alternative channels for CASA business sourcing.
- Proactively seek solutions that benefit the customer and the bank.
People Management
- Plan manpower for branch staff and conduct performance appraisals.
- Improve staff efficiency and productivity, including turnaround time.
- Ensure the team is committed and customer-focused.
- Achieve high employee satisfaction and retain good performers while managing attrition through motivation and job satisfaction.
- Identify and execute actions related to business growth.
- Train branch staff periodically on new products, features, and competition.
- Assist in devising and implementing a customer acquisition and retention program.
Compliance & Risk Responsibilities
- Adhere to regulatory compliance, bank policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Ensure no third-party disclosure of bank information in any form.
- Address critical issues and potential conflicts candidly and timely.
Qualification
- Graduate, preferably Post Graduate/MBA.
Relevant Experience
- 10+ years of banking experience.
Functional Competencies
- Experience in heading a branch with responsibility, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring service quality standards are maintained.
- Knowledge of branch banking compliance and processes.
