Responsibilities:
- Developing and designing products and systems based on customer requirements and industry standards
- Conducting research and testing to check the feasibility and viability of the design ideas
- Collaborating with other areas of the organization, such as manufacturing and quality control
- Reviewing and providing feedback on the designs of other engineers
- Maintaining specifications, drawings and technical manuals
- Troubleshooting design-related issues and making necessary changes
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies and implementing new designs
- Collaborating with other departments to discuss the financial viability of designs, risk assessments and ensure designs that are economically viable
Skills And Qualifications:
- Technical understanding: Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and mechanics
- Innovation: The ability to be innovative and come up with new ideas
- Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate and convey technical concepts to cross-functional teams
- Project Management: Design engineers must manage projects, deadlines and budgets effectively
- CAD Software: Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor and 2D & 3D Drafting is necessary
