**Responsibilities**:
* Developing and designing products and systems based on customer requirements and industry standards * Conducting research and testing to check the feasibility and viability of the design ideas * Collaborating with other areas of the organization, such as manufacturing and quality control * Reviewing and providing feedback on the designs of other engineers * Maintaining specifications, drawings and technical manuals * Troubleshooting design\-related issues and making necessary changes * Staying up\-to\-date with industry trends and new technologies and implementing new designs * Collaborating with other departments to discuss the financial viability of designs, risk assessments and ensure designs that are economically viable
**Skills And Qualifications**:
* **Technical understanding:** Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and mechanics * **Innovation:** The ability to be innovative and come up with new ideas * **Communication:** Effective communication skills to collaborate and convey technical concepts to cross\-functional teams * **Project Management:** Design engineers must manage projects, deadlines and budgets effectively * **CAD Software:** Knowledge of computer\-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor and 2D \& 3D Drafting is necessary
