Project Quality Engineer
Role Overview
Aaron HV Systems is seeking a Project Quality Engineer to improve quality planning, inspection and record keeping across our projects.
This hands-on role combines the production of quality documentation with regular site inspections. The successful candidate will also help introduce consistent processes, templates and controls across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Project Quality Plans, ITPs, SAT procedures, inspection check sheets and quality registers.
- Review drawings, specifications and client requirements to identify inspection, testing and record requirements.
- Define hold points, witness points and acceptance criteria.
- Undertake site inspections and witness testing of HV plant, cable systems, steelwork and associated civil and M&E works.
- Ensure completed works comply with approved drawings, specifications and applicable standards.
- Review supplier and subcontractor quality documentation, certification and inspection records.
- Review RAMS to ensure relevant technical and quality controls are included.
- Raise and manage defects, NCRs, corrective actions and lessons learned.
- Monitor the completion of inspection and test records throughout each project.
- Compile completion packs and handover documentation.
- Support internal, client and ISO audits.
- Develop standard procedures, templates and workflows to improve consistency across the business.
- Provide practical quality guidance to project managers, supervisors and site teams.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Quality engineering or QA/QC experience within construction, engineering or utilities.
- Experience producing ITPs, inspection check sheets and test documentation.
- Experience undertaking site inspections and managing quality records.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
- Experience managing defects, NCRs and corrective actions.
- Strong written, organisational and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
Desirable (not essential)
- Experience in the electrical transmission or distribution sector.
- Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Internal auditor or recognised quality qualification.
- Experience with FATs, SATs and project handover dossiers.
- CSCS card or relevant site qualifications.

- Confident challenging incomplete or non-compliant work constructively.
- Able to turn technical requirements into clear, usable project controls.
- Focused on preventing problems and achieving right-first-time delivery.

Pay: £37,500.00-£52,500.00 per year
