This is a hybrid role based in our Hyderabad office. You’ll work from the office 2–3 days a week.
About the Role
ABC Fitness is looking for a highly motivated and technically strong Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software solutions that support our fitness technology products and platforms.
You will work closely with product managers, architects, designers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality features. The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, ownership of technical deliverables, and the ability to contribute to design and architectural decisions.
You will also contribute to our AI-enabled engineering practices by using modern development tools, automation, and AI-assisted workflows to improve productivity, quality, and delivery speed.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software applications and services.
- Understand business requirements and convert them into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture, technical design, and code-review discussions.
- Develop clean, reusable, secure, and efficient code following established engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions.
- Write unit tests, integration tests, and automated tests to ensure software quality.
- Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide technical estimates.
- Contribute to API design, database design, service integrations, and performance improvements.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and areas for improvement.
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.
- Monitor application health, logs, metrics, and alerts to ensure system reliability.
- Follow security, compliance, coding, documentation, and release-management standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, automation, and engineering practices.
- Use AI-assisted development and automation responsibly to improve coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting efficiency.
- Take ownership of assigned features from requirement analysis through development, deployment, and production support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong programming experience in one or more relevant technologies such as Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or similar.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs, webhooks, and integrating with internal or external services.
- Strong understanding of unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and performance optimisation.
- Experience working with Git and modern CI/CD practices.
- Good understanding of cloud platforms, containers, monitoring, and deployment processes.
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability for delivering software features and technical outcomes from requirements through development, deployment, and production support.
- Proven ability to take responsibility for commitments, communicate progress and risks proactively, and follow through on issues until fully resolved.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.
- Exposure to AI-assisted software development, coding agents, automated testing, or developer productivity tools.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a distributed engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, or similar technologies.
- Experience with observability tools, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
- Experience in the fitness, payments, membership, booking, or SaaS domain.
- Experience with secure coding practices and application security.
