Accountant (Mid-Level)
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Accountant to support our Finance Manager across the full range of accounting activities. You will play a hands-on role in day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance, while growing your exposure to budgeting, audits, and process improvement. Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Finance Manager in all areas of accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain general ledger accounts, post journal entries, and complete timely bank and account reconciliations.
- Process and monitor payables and receivables, follow up on outstanding items, and support cash flow tracking.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, and review of balances.
- Help prepare budgets, forecasts, and cost analyses, and report variances to management.
- Prepare and assist with tax filings and compliance, including GST, TDS, and corporate tax, as applicable.
- Provide documentation and support to internal and external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Follow and help improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Analyze financial data to flag trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with other departments to gather inputs and keep financial reporting timely and accurate.
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (professional qualification such as CA Inter, CMA, ACCA, or CPA progress is a plus).
- 4-7 years of experience in an accountant or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas) for analysis and reporting.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently on routine tasks and escalate issues when needed.
- Clear communication and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
