Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with at least 7 years of professional software development experience and strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, and SQL.
This is a permanent, full-time, fully remote position.
The role is primarily hands-on and includes application development, production support, troubleshooting, code review, and technical guidance for a small development team. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of assigned modules and issues, coordinate with developers and stakeholders, and help improve the stability, reliability, and maintainability of the system.
Candidates must be comfortable working from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript
- Develop and maintain REST APIs, backend services, and database integrations
- Take ownership of assigned modules, features, and technical issues
- Investigate and resolve application, integration, database, and production issues
- Identify root causes and implement measures to prevent recurring problems
- Review code and provide practical technical guidance to other developers
- Help unblock developers and coordinate work across the team
- Communicate clearly with client stakeholders and other technical teams
- Participate in planning, estimation, release, and delivery activities
- Improve application reliability, monitoring, testing, documentation, and maintainability
- Support production releases and verify changes after deployment
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience
- Strong knowledge of core Java and object-oriented programming
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot
- Experience developing and maintaining applications using React and TypeScript
- Experience with microservices and distributed applications
- Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting production applications
- Understanding of software design, testing, maintainability, and code quality
- Basic understanding of scalability, caching, asynchronous processing, and application reliability
- Experience reviewing code and guiding other developers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Ability to take ownership of work and follow issues through to completion
Preferred Qualifications
- Approximately 7–8 years of professional software development experience
- Previous experience as a senior engineer
- Experience taking ownership of an application, module, or significant area of functionality
- Experience guiding or coordinating a small development team
- Experience with AWS or another cloud platform
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and application performance tools

- Salary: $85,000–$95,000 CAD annually
