ESL Teacher at CVE

Reports to: CVE Administrator/Ministry Manager

Classification: Full-time Missionary

Location: Magdalena,MX

Targeted Role Transition Date: Term starting date September 1st, 2026

Position Summary

Join the team of teachers in CVE’s afterschool program, HILOS, and Summer Program

expanding on current outreach to children and families by teaching English to children and

adults of a variety of ages and levels. HarvestCall seeks a mature, Christ-centered teacher

preferably with experience, a heart for discipleship, and a desire to walk alongside children,

adults, and families. The missionary will serve as an English as a Second Language teacher within the HILOS program during the school year and Summer Program seeking to use teaching English as an avenue to share the Gospel and model Christ as relationships are built with local children and families.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach English classes to elementary and middle school students as well as adults.
  • Work with the HILOS team during the school year and Summer Program staff and
  • volunteers to build relationships with students, adults, and families.
  • Join the HILOS and Summer Program outreach efforts to strengthen families including
  • through family events during the school year and summer.
  • Develop a curriculum to teach English listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Support the HILOS and Summer programs as needed.
  • Active participation in the Magdalena church and church events.

Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities may be adjusted as organizational needs evolve.

Qualifications

Church/Spiritual Qualifications

  • Active member in good standing in the Apostolic Christian Church of America, with local elder approval.
  • Commitment to serving the full spectrum of ACCA membership across all congregations.
  • Support the ACCA Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Sexuality.
  • Models a lifestyle and character that reflects Christian values in both personal conduct and professional leadership.
  • Collaborative, servant-hearted leadership style.
  • Heart for reaching the lost and sharing the Truth of God’s Word with the Mexican people

Professional Requirements

  • Excellent English language proficiency
  • Interest and desire to learn Spanish
  • English teacher certification (TEFL, TESOL, etc.) or willingness to acquire
  • Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience are preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated maturity and readiness to serve cross-culturally in close collaboration with local ministries and local church
  • Creativity in planning and implementing lessons
  • Ability to teach English in an engaging manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Cultural awareness/sensitivity
  • Ability to work as a team, collaborate and engage with others.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment.
  • Meets all legal requirements for employment and authorization to work.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to live and work full-time on site in Mexico, including environments with varying climate, terrain, and infrastructure conditions
  • Ability to participate in ministry activities that may involve extended periods of standing or travel
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules, cultural environments, and living conditions with flexibility and resilience
  • Valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport and the ability to obtain and maintain appropriate visas, permits, or residency documentation for service in Mexico
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended ministry schedules as needed
  • Willingness to attend required pre-field training, conferences, retreats, or organizational meetings in the United States or abroad
  • Compliance with all organizational travel, safety, and security policies
