  • Work primarily with WordPress; experience with Joomla and other website platforms is an asset.
  • Turn client needs, branding, and content into clean website layouts that are easy to navigate.
  • Create page mockups, wireframes, or design concepts for client review when needed.
  • Ensure websites are optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile use.
  • Apply basic SEO best practices, including page titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, clear page structure, and fast-loading images.
  • Test website functionality, links, forms, and layouts before launch or delivery.
  • Troubleshoot basic website issues and provide ongoing client website support.
  • Communicate project updates, timelines, and information needed from clients clearly with the TRAC team.
  • Work with TRAC’s graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and project coordinator to create cohesive client projects.
  • Keep website files, passwords, credentials, and project information organized and confidential.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience designing and editing professional websites.
  • Strong WordPress experience, including themes, page builders, plugins, content updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of responsive web design and user experience.
  • Good visual design skills, including typography, spacing, colour, layout, and branding.
  • Familiarity with basic HTML and CSS; JavaScript knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience using website builders such as Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, Gutenberg, or similar tools.
  • Ability to work independently, meet agreed timelines, and manage feedback/revisions professionally.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • A portfolio of websites you have designed, built, or substantially updated.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with nonprofits, small businesses, community organizations, or entrepreneurs.
  • Experience with Joomla, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, or other content-management platforms.
  • Familiarity with domain management, web hosting, DNS, SSL certificates, backups, and basic website security.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEO tools, or online booking/e-commerce integrations.
  • Graphic-design experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Figma.
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset.

What We Offer

  • Flexible work, based on client projects and availability.
  • Opportunities to work on meaningful projects for local businesses, community organizations, and nonprofits.
  • A collaborative creative team with access to photography, videography, graphic-design, and marketing support.
  • The opportunity to build a long-term working relationship with TRAC as website-design projects grow.
  • Competitive project-based compensation, to be discussed based on experience and scope of work.
