**About the role** We are looking for a **Website** Developer to maintain, improve, and build features for our organizational websites. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with existing sites, troubleshooting issues, and implementing clean, user\-friendly designs.
**Key responsibilities**
* Maintain and update existing websites (content, layout, and functionality). * Troubleshoot and resolve website bugs, performance, and display issues. * Implement new pages, sections, and features based on project requirements. * Collaborate with staff to translate ideas and content into effective web experiences. * Ensure websites are mobile\-responsive, accessible, and follow best practices for usability and SEO. * Document key processes and provide basic training or handover notes as needed.
**Required qualifications and skills**
* Proven experience as a web / front‑end developer. * Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. * Experience with at least one CMS (e.g., WordPress) and common plugins/themes. * Familiarity with responsive design and cross‑browser compatibility. * Basic understanding of website security and performance optimization. * Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and good communication skills.
**Assets (nice to have)**
* Experience with PHP or another back‑end language. * Experience with website hosting, cPanel, and DNS. * Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG). * Experience working with non‑profits or community organizations.
**Contract details**
* Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance. * Start date: as soon as possible
Pay: $17\.60 per hour
