**About the Role**

We're looking for a hands\-on Controls Engineer to design, program, commission, and support automated manufacturing equipment — including palletized assembly lines, Cartesian robot systems, conveyors, and automated work cells — from concept through launch and continuous improvement. Ideal for someone who enjoys PLC programming, industrial automation, and solving complex controls challenges.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Controls Programming \& Automation**

* Develop/troubleshoot PLC programs: Beckhoff (TwinCAT 3\), Allen\-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix — Structured Text, Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram * Support HMI applications; build machine sequences, alarms, diagnostics, recipes, and operator interfaces * Maintain controls documentation and software backups

**Equipment Development \& Commissioning**

* Design controls for palletized assembly lines, Cartesian robot systems, automated assembly equipment, and material handling/conveyor systems * Develop/commission new equipment; lead upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement projects * Configure and troubleshoot digital/analog I/O, remote I/O, sensors, actuators, servo systems, and VFDs

**Manufacturing Systems Integration**

* Integrate equipment with MES, SCADA, and production monitoring systems * Support data collection, traceability, reporting, and performance monitoring; participate in digital manufacturing initiatives

**Troubleshooting \& Support**

* Diagnose and resolve PLC, HMI, network, motion control, and machine control issues; perform root cause analysis * Support maintenance and production teams to improve uptime, reliability, and OEE

**Safety \& Networking**

* Develop/troubleshoot machine safety systems: Safety PLCs, safety relays, light curtains, area scanners, interlocks, E\-stops * Configure and support EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP networks

**Qualifications**

**Required**

* Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field * 5\+ years of experience in Controls Engineering or Industrial Automation, including PLC and HMI development * Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, servo motion/VFDs, industrial networking, and machine safety systems * Experience commissioning and troubleshooting automated equipment; able to read electrical schematics and control drawings

**Nice to Have**

* SCADA, manufacturing analytics, and Industrial IoT (IIoT) experience * Beckhoff\-based building automation (HVAC, AHUs, radiant heating, energy management) * CCTV, video management systems, access control, and alarm systems * Robotics, machine vision, and advanced motion control
