Tasks and responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and test embedded software
- Perform manual and automated verification of software functionality
- Test software to ensure compliance with technical specifications
- Document implemented software solutions
- Debug and troubleshoot embedded system issues
- Apply functional and object-oriented programming practices in Linux-based systems
- Continuously improve software quality, performance, and maintainability
- Collaborate with Customer Support to investigate and resolve field issues
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field
- Strong Linux shell skills
- Good programming skills in Rust and/or C/C++
- Experience with software debugging tools and methods (e.g., GDB, code inspection, logging)
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Experience with Git version control
- Experience with Embedded Linux
- Good communication skills in German and English
- Independent working style with a high level of personal responsibility and initiative
Nice-to-have skills and experience
- Experience with build systems, especially Yocto
- Experience in Linux kernel driver development
- Experience designing or developing real-time applications
- Practical knowledge of inter-process communication mechanisms
- Knowledge of optical networking technologies
