**Tasks and responsibilities**
* Design, develop, implement, and test embedded software * Perform manual and automated verification of software functionality * Test software to ensure compliance with technical specifications * Document implemented software solutions * Debug and troubleshoot embedded system issues * Apply functional and object\-oriented programming practices in Linux\-based systems * Continuously improve software quality, performance, and maintainability * Collaborate with Customer Support to investigate and resolve field issues
**Knowledge, skills and experience required**
* Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field * Strong Linux shell skills * Good programming skills in Rust and/or C/C\+\+ * Experience with software debugging tools and methods (e.g., GDB, code inspection, logging) * Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment * Experience with Git version control * Experience with Embedded Linux * Good communication skills in German and English * Independent working style with a high level of personal responsibility and initiative
**Nice\-to\-have skills and experience**
* Experience with build systems, especially Yocto * Experience in Linux kernel driver development * Experience designing or developing real\-time applications * Practical knowledge of inter\-process communication mechanisms * Knowledge of optical networking technologies
