Engineering Manager — Product & Delivery

About the role

Role Summary

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to serve as the founder’s technical counterpart — planning, managing and tracking product development end to end. This is a manager\-level role combining engineering leadership, technical program management and quality oversight. You will work closely with leadership to translate business priorities into delivery plans, coordinate development workstreams, and ensure releases are well\-scoped, tested and tracked to completion.

Key Responsibilities

* Partner with the founder and leadership team to define product priorities, delivery roadmaps and release plans. * Plan, manage and track development initiatives across frontend, backend and platform work — from requirement clarification through release. * Lead day\-to\-day engineering delivery: sprint planning, task breakdown, status tracking, risk identification and escalation. * Establish and maintain delivery rituals — stand\-ups, reviews, release checklists and stakeholder updates. * Oversee quality and testing practices; coordinate with QA resources on test planning, regression cycles and release sign\-off. * Guide the effective use of AI\-assisted development tools and workflows within the team; set standards for how AI is used in design, coding and documentation. * Review technical scope, estimates and trade\-offs; help prevent scope creep and ensure focus on high\-impact work. * Coordinate with product, operations, growth and support teams on dependencies, timelines and post\-release follow\-through. * Maintain visibility into open defects, technical debt and production issues; drive resolution with engineering resources. * Contribute to hiring, onboarding and performance of engineers and QA team members as the function scales. * Act as the primary point of contact for technical delivery matters on behalf of leadership.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; postgraduate degree is a plus. * 8–12 years of experience in software product development, with at least 3–4 years in a team lead, engineering manager or technical program manager role. * Demonstrated experience managing software delivery in a startup or high\-growth product environment. * Strong project management skills — planning, scheduling, tracking, reporting and stakeholder communication. * Working knowledge of modern web product stacks (frontend, API/backend, databases, CI/CD). * Experience overseeing testing and release quality — manual and automated QA, regression management, UAT coordination. * Hands\-on familiarity with AI\-assisted product development workflows (e.g. AI coding tools, prompt\-driven development, AI\-augmented teams). * Ability to work independently with founders and senior leadership; strong judgment on priorities and trade\-offs. * Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable translating between business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in marketplace, SaaS or B2B2C platform businesses. * Background in construction, real estate, proptech or adjacent industry technology. * Prior experience building delivery processes in a small team using AI\-augmented engineering. * Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Linear, GitHub Projects, Notion or similar for program tracking. * Exposure to Agile, Scrum or Kanban methodologies in a practical, lightweight form. * PMP, CSM or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
