Role Summary
We are looking for a QA Engineer / Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to strengthen product quality through manual and automated testing. This role owns test planning, regression coverage, defect reporting and release validation across critical user journeys on web and API layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute test plans for new features, enhancements and regression cycles.
- Build and maintain automated test suites (UI, API and integration) within the CI pipeline.
- Identify, document and track defects with clear reproduction steps, severity and impact.
- Validate releases against acceptance criteria before production deployment.
- Perform functional, regression, cross-browser and responsive testing on web applications.
- Test REST API endpoints for correctness, error handling and contract compliance.
- Collaborate with product, engineering and support teams on recurring quality themes.
- Contribute to test documentation, checklists and quality metrics reporting.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and provide timely feedback on build quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in software quality assurance or test automation.
- Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, SDLC and agile methodologies.
- Experience writing and executing test cases; familiarity with defect-tracking tools.
- Hands-on experience with at least one test automation framework (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or equivalent).
- Ability to test web applications across browsers and device form factors.
- Basic knowledge of HTTP, REST APIs and JSON; comfortable using API testing tools (e.g. Postman).
- Clear written communication for bug reports and test documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript-based automation stacks.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and integrating tests into pipelines.
- Experience testing SaaS, marketplace or multi-role web applications.
- Familiarity with SQL for basic data validation and test setup.
- Knowledge of performance or accessibility testing basics.
- ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus.
