Job Description: SCOPE OF POSITION:

Responsible for creating engaging and relevant communications content across multiple platforms to support AFMCs communications strategy. Platforms include but are not limited to AFMC public-facing website, blog posts, social media, employee intranet, and other electronic and digital communications intended for internal and external target audiences. Also responsible for comprehensive proposal content development to secure funding for organizational programs and projects. This role demands a high-level of creativity, research proficiency, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Write, edit, and produce compelling content for the AFMC website, social media outlets, content management system and company intranet to support the organization’s strategic goals and objectives, increasing visibility and engagement across key audiences.

  • Research, produce and edit copy for appropriate target audience and media outlet.

  • Monitor content performance using SEO tools and analytics, and report to VP Communications and Strategy and Digital Marketing Manager.

  • Work with internal and external customers to develop communication materials, ensuring appropriate Health Literacy levels.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and make recommendations for content innovations.

  • Conduct specialized research requests and handle various other special projects as needed.

  • Maintain a familiarity with AFMC initiatives and contract deliverables.

  • Write, review, and edit proposal responses to ensure clear, persuasive, comprehensive, and compliant proposal narratives.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across multiple teams for proposal responses.

  • Adhere to format, content, and style guidelines, considering usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality.

  • Communicate needs and requests to other team members as appropriate.

  • Follow AFMC, state and federal protocols regarding data confidentiality/security and HIPAA compliance.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Intermediate skill level with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of the Internet and research techniques.
  • Knowledge of social media channels
  • Knowledge of content management systems
  • Intermediate skill level with website and intranet content administration
  • Knowledge of website analytics and analysis
  • Type 40 wpm.
  • Exceptional command of the English language and knowledge of punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, or related field. Health Literacy Certification

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Minimum of three (3) years of professional writing experience (journalism, corporate communications, technical writing, copywriting, public relations, etc.), and research experience. Experience with content management systems, website content development and social media channels.

Desirable: Preferred qualifications include experience in health care content development, technical writing, or marketing/communication agencies.
