Aga Khan Rural Support Programme India (AKRSP India) is a non-denominational, non-political, non-government organization. AKRSP India was established in 1983, and it seeks to contribute to rural poverty reduction through community involvement and empowerment that leads to efficient management and an improved environment.

Job location: Sayla, Surendranagar District, Gujarat.

Position Summary: The Training Center Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all activities of the training center, ensuring smooth implementation of training programs, mobilizing participants, maintaining records, and supporting trainers and trainees. The role requires excellent organizational skills, community engagement abilities, and commitment to delivering impactful training for youth, women, and community members.

Key Responsibilities

1. Training Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate training sessions as per the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with other project leaders to prepare the yearly calendar for mandatory and staff development/improvement training.
  • Support trainers in the delivery of training modules.
  • Create and help design training modules on gender, agriculture, social mobilization, PRA, and other thematic areas.
  • Ensure timely availability of training materials and resources.
  • Monitor participant attendance, progress, and performance.

2. Community Mobilization & Trainee Support

  • Conduct outreach activities to mobilize trainees from nearby communities.
  • Counsel and guide trainees on career pathways and training relevance.
  • Address participant concerns and maintain high retention rates.
  • Create awareness of internship programs, induction programs for new Staff, and orient them on the core values of AKRSP(I).

3. Center Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain attendance, trainee records, and training-related documentation.
  • Prepare and share weekly/monthly reports with the project team.
  • Maintain budget utilization and expense reports for the training center.
  • Ensure proper, timely, and error-free billing, collection reports, payment reports, and other required reports.
  • Oversee repair and maintenance of the training center facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of training aids, classrooms, and utilities.

4. Stakeholder & Placement Linkages

  • Liaise with local institutions, government departments, NGOs, and industry partners.
  • Explore opportunities with other NGOs/Government agencies to conduct training at the center, prepare a year-round calendar, and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
  • Facilitate exposure visits, guest lectures, and job placement support.
  • Build linkages for entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities for trainees.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Master’s in Social Work, Rural Development, Education, Management, or related field
  • 5-6 years of experience in training, education, or community development projects
  • Experience in skill development or livelihood promotion programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of crop management, irrigation technologies, soil & water conservation, and FPO strengthening, Gender and government schemas.
  • Proficiency in local language and MS Office/Excel.

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial documentation and reporting.
