ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Web Developer with 2–4 years of professional experience who has strong hands- on experience in website development, e-commerce platforms, WordPress/WooCommerce, frontend development, APIs, integrations, and troubleshooting.
This is a hands-on role involving multiple websites, product catalogs, e-commerce functionality, third-party integrations, website optimization, and ongoing development projects.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently, understanding existing codebases, identifying technical issues, developing solutions, and communicating progress and blockers clearly.
The Web Developer will work closely with SEO, Content, Design, Product to maintain and continuously improve our digital platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Website Development & Maintenance
- Develop, maintain, and enhance company websites and web applications.
- Build new website features and functionality based on business requirements.
- Convert UI/UX designs into responsive and functional web pages.
- Maintain and improve existing websites across multiple brands.
- Ensure websites are responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website bugs and technical issues.
2. WordPress & WooCommerce Development
- Develop and customize WordPress websites.
- Develop and maintain WooCommerce-based e-commerce websites.
- Customize WordPress themes and plugins.
- Develop custom WooCommerce functionality.
- Customize product pages, category pages, cart, checkout, and account
functionality.
- Work with product variations, attributes, pricing, and B2B/B2C e-commerce
requirements.
- Troubleshoot WordPress and plugin conflicts.
- Integrate and customize third-party WordPress/WooCommerce plugins.
- Work with Elementor and other WordPress tools where required.
3. Frontend Development
- Develop responsive interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Build reusable components using React.js.
- Work with modern frontend development practices.
- Implement responsive and user-friendly website interfaces.
- Optimize frontend code for performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with designers to accurately implement UI/UX designs.
4. React & Next.js
- Develop and maintain applications using React.js and Next.js.
- Build reusable React components.
- Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs.
- Implement dynamic pages and data-driven interfaces.
- Debug and optimize React/Next.js applications.
- Understand client-side and server-side functionality.
- Work with existing Next.js applications and improve functionality where required.
5. Backend & API Development
- Develop and maintain backend functionality using Node.js and Express.js.
- Build and integrate REST APIs.
- Connect frontend applications with backend services.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
- Implement authentication, authorization, validation, and error handling.
- Troubleshoot API and integration issues.
- Understand API documentation and independently implement integrations.
6. Database Development
- Work with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
- Create and optimize SQL queries.
- Perform CRUD operations and data management.
- Work with ORM technologies such as Prisma or Sequelize.
- Understand database relationships and data structures.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues.
7. Third-Party Integrations
Work with and integrate external services required for e-commerce and business
operations, including:
- Payment gateways
- Shipping APIs
- Tax services
- Email services
- Product and marketplace APIs
- Business automation APIs
- Other third-party services
The developer should be able to understand API documentation, implement integrations, troubleshoot authentication issues, and work with web hooks where required.
8. E-Commerce Development
- Develop and maintain large product catalogs.
- Support B2B and B2C e-commerce functionality.
- Implement product-related features and customizations.
- Improve product listing and product detail page functionality.
- Work with pricing, variations, attributes, categories, and product data.
- Support integrations between e-commerce websites and external systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve website functionality and customer experience.
9. Website Performance & Optimization
- Identify and resolve website performance issues.
- Optimize frontend assets, scripts, CSS, images, and API calls.
- Improve page loading performance.
- Identify inefficient code and database queries.
- Support technical improvements recommended by SEO and business teams.
- Ensure websites remain stable as product catalogs and traffic grow.
10. Technical SEO Support
The developer will work with the SEO team to implement technical SEO requirements, including:
- Proper HTML structure.
- URL and permalink implementation.
- Schema markup implementation.
- Sitemap and indexing-related technical requirements.
- Page speed improvements.
- Mobile responsiveness.
- Canonical URL implementation.
- Redirects and technical website fixes.
- Crawlability and technical SEO improvements.
11. Deployment & Server Management
- Deploy websites and applications to production environments.
- Work with Git/GitHub for version control.
- Manage development, staging, and production changes.
- Perform website backups and deployment checks.
- Troubleshoot deployment-related issues.
- Work with cloud services such as AWS where required.
- Manage basic DNS, domains, SSL, and hosting configurations.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
Must Have
- 2–4 years of professional web development experience.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Strong experience with WordPress and WooCommerce.
- Experience with React.js.
- Experience with Node.js and Express.js.
- Good understanding of REST APIs.
