All Purpose Pumps is seeking a self-motivated, autonomous Mechanical Engineer to join our Operations team in Hoppers Crossing. In this role, you will support the design and improvement of our high-quality pump products and plumbing solutions. You will create 3D CAD models, translate them into 2D manufacturing drafts, conduct engineering calculations, and produce build specifications for manufacturing.
- CAD Modeling & Drafting: Create detailed 3D CAD models using SolidWorks and produce high-quality 2D drafts suitable for manufacturing.
- Product Design & Validation: Provide sound mechanical designs for new products, updates, and improvements. Perform calculations to validate designs and ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards.
- Documentation & Support: Produce Bills of Materials (BOM) and build specifications. Update or author technical documentation, including user manuals, risk assessments, technical datasheets, and commissioning plans.
- Technical Assistance & Compliance: Provide technical support to internal departments and customers while maintaining OH&S standards and continuous improvement goals.
Selection Criteria (Skills & Qualifications Required)
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).
- Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar mechanical engineering role within manufacturing, mining, or related industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pumps, plumbing solutions, hydraulic systems, and relevant Australian Standards for design.
Hard Skills
- Proficiency in CAD Software: Expert level in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- General IT: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Soft Skills
- Self-starter capable of working autonomously and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and time-management capabilities
Pay: $100,000.00 per year
