About the Role
We are launching a new industrial supply store serving contractors, tradespeople, and local businesses in Ottawa.
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Store Manager who will play a key role in setting up the store from scratch, overseeing daily operations, building customer relationships, and driving sales growth.
This is not a passive retail position. You will be directly involved in launching the store, establishing efficient operations, and helping build a successful business from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up the new store, including inventory organization, store layout, systems, and operational processes.
- Open and manage the store daily, with an early start at approximately 5:00 AM.
- Oversee day-to-day store operations and ensure smooth, efficient workflows.
- Assist walk-in customers, including contractors, tradespeople, and local businesses.
- Process customer orders, prepare quotations, and manage follow-ups.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, store cleanliness, and operational organization.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Actively support sales initiatives and contribute to revenue growth.
- Identify opportunities to improve store operations and customer service.
What We're Looking For
- Strong retail or store management experience is required.
- Proven ability to manage daily store operations independently.
- Willingness and availability to work early mornings, starting at approximately 5:00 AM.
- Hands-on, proactive, dependable, and results-oriented.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable interacting with contractors, tradespeople, and business customers.
- Experience in industrial supplies, hardware, construction materials, or related industries is an asset.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
- Ability to take ownership and contribute to building a new store from the ground up.
Compensation & Earning Potential
- Base Pay: $20–$24 per hour, depending on experience.
- Additional Earnings: Performance-based commissions and bonuses tied to store sales.
- Total Earning Potential: $3,800–$6,800 per month, including applicable commissions and bonuses.
