**The Role \-**

Amphenol Commercial Air is seeking a **Design Applications Engineer** to work out of the Design Center in Pasadena, CA..

The **Design Applications Engineer** will work with sales engineers, customers, and their end users to develop solutions that meet the specified requirement. Basic responsibilities include design and implementation of new connector designs.

The key responsibilities of the **Design Applications** **Engineer** include, but are not limited to:

* Review customer specifications and determine the optimum connector solution * Interpret customer specifications and have a working knowledge of industry standards * Develop and review new design concepts in collaboration with engineering team * Assist in project management relative to new designs through engineering and qualification testing processes * Aid engineering and process engineering as the voice of the customer relative to design/project requirements * Promote collaboration with Business Development and Product Marketing to define market product \& application needs and help develop technologies and products allowing Amphenol to remain an industry leader * Present detailed designs to customers and participate in technical trade shows * Assist Marketing Communications Team in preparing technical literature to promote products and technologies

**Salary: $85,000 \- $125,000**

**The Person \-**

The key skills and qualities of a **Design Applications Engineer** at Amphenol Commercial Air:

* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or other technical discipline, and preferably two or more years of related interconnect experience particularly with harsh environment solutions and/or high\-power systems * The candidate must have the ability to present complex designs; be organized, self\-motivated, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of learning and using Amphenol’s operating programs * Ability to work and travel independently, main areas of concentration include United States, Europe, and Asia * Become an expert on all Amphenol Commercial Air (ACAD) products including their features, benefits, and applications * Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, customer source documents, drawings, and other professional manuals * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in a consistent and timely manner * Ability to solve problems from easy to complex * Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, project management, and time management * Physical demands of the job are sitting and typing. * Travel as necessary (air \& car), up to 50%
