Do you love building the platforms that other engineers depend on to ship software safely and confidently? Are you passionate about solving hard problems in continuous delivery? Do you want to help shape the next generation of how Apple delivers its services? As part of our Deployment Platform team, you'll help build and evolve a high\-scale deployment platform that empowers engineering teams across Apple to define their deployment strategies and roll out services to production with speed, safety, and confidence.

**Description**

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Deployment Platform team. Our mission is to create paved paths for developers deploying services safely across the world. You'll build innovative solutions that let developers declaratively describe how their services roll out, and deliver them across multi\- and hybrid\-cloud environments with minimal manual intervention.

Modern software delivery at Apple demands more than pushing code to production. Teams need progressive delivery strategies, automated safety checks, and fast feedback when something goes wrong. You'll help build the platform that makes this possible \- from the declarative DSL developers use to describe their pipelines, to the GitOps operator that continuously reconciles desired state, to the canary analysis and phased rollout capabilities that catch regressions before they reach users. You'll collaborate cross\-functionally with teams across Apple, taking projects from design through implementation and delivery, with a bias toward simple, high\-quality, developer\-friendly solutions.","responsibilities":"Deployment Platform Engineering Design, build, and own features of our deployment platform \- including the deployment DSL, GitOps operator, and pipeline orchestration that power deployments in various environments.

Progressive Delivery Build and improve progressive delivery capabilities such as phased rollouts, automated canary analysis, and metric gates that integrate with metric providers to keep deployments safe.

Integrations \& Reliability Integrate with the broader deployment ecosystem (e.g., Spinnaker) and build reliable, observable services on top of distributed systems technologies such as Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, etc.

Developer Experience \& Intelligence Deliver clean REST/gRPC/GraphQL APIs, tooling, and capabilities \- including AI\-powered continuous delivery intelligence \- that help developers understand, troubleshoot, and continuously improve their deployments.

**Preferred Qualifications**

Experience with containers and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)

Experience with cloud\-native deployment technologies (e.g., Spinnaker, Helm, Argo CD)

Familiarity with GitOps and declarative, continuous delivery concepts

Experience with public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP)

Familiarity with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terrarform, Ansible)

Some exposure to AI\-powered tooling for CI/CD, deployments, or operations (e.g., automated root cause analysis)

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non\-technical stakeholders

Self\-motivated and well\-organized, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive ambiguous projects to completion

**Minimum Qualifications**

2\+ years of relevant industry experience building and operating production software

Strong programming skills in Java, delivering high\-quality, large\-scale services

Solid foundation in software architecture, system design, and problem solving

Hands\-on experience with distributed systems and cloud architecture (e.g., Cassandra, Kafka, Redis)

Experience designing and building REST, gRPC, and/or GraphQL APIs

Solid understanding of micro\-services and cloud\-native application patterns

Ability to work across the full lifecycle of a service \- API design, implementation, testing, and operations

Hands\-on experience with service deployment

BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
