Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join our innovative IT team. Duties
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive cybersecurity strategies utilizing advanced network security tools including firewalls, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), VPNs, and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions.
- Monitor network traffic using protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS to identify vulnerabilities and respond swiftly to security incidents.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to evaluate system defenses against threats targeting LAN, WAN, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), and virtualization environments like VMware vSphere.
- Develop and enforce security policies based on standards like NIST frameworks, ISO 27002 guidelines, and ITIL best practices to ensure compliance across all organizational units.
- Manage encryption protocols including PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), SSL/TLS, IPsec VPNs, and SSH for secure communications.
- Oversee system administration tasks on diverse operating systems such as Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), macOS, Solaris, openSUSE, and Android/iOS devices to maintain secure configurations.
- Lead incident response efforts by analyzing security alerts via SIEM tools like Splunk or SolarWinds; coordinate remediation actions; document incidents; and improve detection capabilities through continuous monitoring with tools like PRTG or Nagios.
- Support network support activities including network installation, configuration of Cisco routers/switches, Juniper devices, load balancing solutions, high availability setups, disaster recovery planning, and cloud architecture deployment using Terraform or Ansible.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in computer networking with a strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, SFTP, FTP.
- Hands-on knowledge of cybersecurity tools including Cisco ISE for identity management; Cisco ASA firewalls; IDS/IPS systems; SIEM platforms; and network monitoring solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure or Google Cloud Platform; experience with cloud infrastructure design using IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) models.
- Strong grasp of information security principles aligned with NIST standards and ISO 27002 best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell scripting), PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
- Experience managing operating systems including Windows Server environments; Linux distributions such as Debian or CentOS; macOS; Solaris; openSUSE; and mobile OS like Android/iOS.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere; containerization concepts; disaster recovery strategies; high availability configurations; and system deployment automation tools like Ansible or Terraform.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across teams.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or Cisco CCNP Security are highly desirable.
