Responsibilities:

  • Experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles and theories.
  • Works under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.
  • Conducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software.
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
  • Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Designs, develops and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 2-4 yrs. of experience, or a Master's and 0-2 yrs. of experience

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
  • Developing solutions with languages and technologies such as Java, C++/C, Python, Venom, Go, Linux containers, Kubernetes and Helm Charts
  • Design and implementation using object-oriented principles and patterns
  • Participation in multiple simultaneous efforts
  • Familiar with the full software engineering lifecycle
  • Capable of capturing and documenting software design and functionality

Desired: Active Secret clearance or higher

  • Practitioner of Scrum using Test-driven Development
  • Building solutions using virtual machines, cloud environments, repositories, databases, specialized hardware and collaborative or federated technologies
  • Developing video or data streaming applications
  • Familiar with securing an operating system
  • Developing or using cross-domain guard technology
  • Public-key cryptography
  • Developing applications for Microsoft Windows

Equal Pay Act: This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, Arcfield invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
