Duties : Manage and schedule engineering teams across the U.S. and Romania to align and harmonize product development while overseeing the full design and development lifecycle of the company’s proprietary locks and components. Lead, hire, train, mentor, and prioritize engineers and designers within cross-functional project teams to deliver innovative new products, enhancements, VAVE initiatives, and cost savings, while coaching staff for optimal performance and career growth and conducting formal and informal performance reviews. Ensure projects meet department goals, budgets, and cost estimates, follow the ASSA ABLOY NPD process, and adhere to quality standards through rigorous design review, approval, and the promotion of best practices including FMEA, DFMA, and risk analysis. Serve as a liaison between engineering, production, and suppliers by managing internal quality control, evaluating work quality, following up on production and supply activities in both regions, maintaining external supplier relationships, collaborating closely with peers, negotiating and resolving issues, implementing strategies to achieve objectives, and escalating matters appropriately when necessary.

Requirements : Requires Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study, and 4 years of managerial experience in any job title/occupation/position involving architectural hardware, mechanical and electromechanical locking devices and hardware. Experience specified must include 4 years of experience with each of the following: firmware development and electro-mechanical product development; E1 development tool set including Form Design Aid, Report Design Aid, Event Rules, Data Structures, Named Event Rules, Processing Options, Table Event Rules, Triggers, Business Functions, Debug tools and C Programming; developing market-relevant products, providing leadership, optimizing production for cost efficiency, and fostering the professional growth of both peers and self; designing and developing mechanical systems using tools such as FMEA, HALT, GD&T, DFM&A, DVP&R, Altium, PCAD, SolidWorks 3D, MS Project, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or root cause analysis; developing specialized tooling, including Stamping and Investment Casting dies; executing production via precision Machining and industrial 3D Printing; programing and troubleshooting automated systems using PLC and VHDL; communicating and influencing stakeholders throughout the organization (inside and outside engineering) to drive goals to project completion; working in a collaborative global organization specializing in door hardware; and taking new products from inception through development and commercialization.

The annualized salary for this role is $126,526 to $140,000. The final pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level, and other qualifications for the role. Benefits and additional compensation offered for this position are:
