**GENERAL PURPOSE** The Assistant Director of Sales is a dynamic leader who helps shape the success of our sales team by driving revenue, building lasting client relationships, and delivering exceptional hospitality. Working alongside the Director of Sales, this role provides strategic support in leading the department, mentoring team members, and ensuring sales initiatives align with the hotel’s business goals. Through proactive business development, relationship management, and innovative selling strategies, the Assistant Director of Sales plays an integral role in maximizing guest room, meeting, and event revenue while creating memorable experiences for our clients and guests.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES** Supervises sales managers and related associates; assists with interviews, hires, schedules, training, developing, empowering and coaching. Key Account Management: Maximizes current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth. Plans and implements an on\-going targeted account development Top Opportunity Pipeline in order to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts and contracts. Continually targets and prospects for new business through telemarketing, individual creativity and innovation. Yield Management: Utilized yield management techniques in profitability negotiating room rates and function space commitments in order to enhance the hotel’s financial performance. Account Service and Management: Maintains well\-documented, accurate, organized and up\-to\-date file management systemin order to serve client and employer in the most organized and knowledgeable manner. Develops strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous, and ethical interpersonal interaction. Develops customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, in order to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues. Promptly, within the same day or by 10am the next business day, follows\-up on all customer needs and inquires in an efficient and expedient manner. Time Management: Focuses on revenue\-producing activity and maximizes selling time by dedicating a minimum of 80% of work time on direct sales efforts. Portraying themselves in a neat, clean and business like appearance, while representing the hotel and company with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, a service focuses approach and a caring, sincere attitude at all times. Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communication with all co\-workers for the best overall performance of the hotel. Hours: 40\-50 hours over a 5 day period, typically Monday – Friday, days and times may vary based on need. Travel as required. **OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. **SUPERVISORY DUTIES** – 3\-10 employees **JOB QUALIFICATIONS** 3\-5 years Previous Hotel Sales experience required. Previous Hotel Service, polices or operations experience will be considered. Previous Supervisory skills experience is required. **Knowledge** High School Degree required. 4\-year degree preferred.

**Skills** Superior communication skills required to provide information and communication interaction with guests and associates. Excellent Computer skills, Strong Delphi experience a plus Required compiling facts and figures in accordance with established procedures. Excellent hearing necessary for verbal interaction with guests and associates. Stellar vision necessary to view set\-ups.

**Abilities** Able to perform the essential functions as outlined with or without reasonable accommodation. Lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying tables, chairs and boxes (50 pound maximum) occasionally). Mobility – ability to frequently walk throughout the hotel and event spaces, often on short notice, while escorting prospective clients on property tours and showcasing guest rooms, meeting spaces, and hotel amenities. Continuous Standing required for function observation, client site inspections up to 4 hours maximum. Driving – distances vary (20% used for sales calls) **Environment** Inside 90% of the day, outside 10% of the day Temperatures – extreme summer heat of 95 degrees and above; and extreme winter cold, with subfreezing windchills.
