Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant HR Director to join our organization’s human resources leadership team. In this role, you will support the development and execution of comprehensive HR strategies that foster a positive workplace culture, enhance talent management, and ensure compliance with employment laws. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive organizational effectiveness, oversee HR operations, and lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion. The hire should be comfortable moving between strategic planning and hands-on leadership. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence key HR programs and contribute to the overall success of our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing organization-wide HR strategies aligned with business objectives, including talent acquisition, succession planning, and workforce development.
  • Lead talent sourcing efforts by managing recruitment processes using Workday.
  • Oversee employee on boarding and orientation programs to ensure seamless integration of new hires into the organization.
  • Supervise HR teams responsible for employee relations, performance management, employee evaluation, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage compliance over departments that are involved with employment laws including FMLA, OSHA, Work Comp, EEO and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support payroll administration involving ADP.
  • Drive process improvements in HR operations by leveraging data analysis skills for reporting on HR metrics, conducting data collection for strategic planning, and implementing best practices in human capital management.
  • Lead employee misconduct investigations with transparency and fairness while maintaining legal compliance standards.
  • Facilitate training & development initiatives to enhance leadership skills across teams and promote continuous learning culture within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in business administration or human resources preferred.
  • 2-4 years previous Assistant HR Director experience.
  • or Bachelor degree in business administration or human resources with 4-7 years as an HR manager and the following experiences below.
  • Supervising HR teams within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of employment & labor law regulations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in talent acquisition strategies including sourcing.
  • Extensive background in managing employee relations issues, conflict management, performance appraisal processes, and employee evaluation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits administration programs.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms like Workday and PeopleSoft for data collection, reporting, and process automation.
  • Skilled in strategic planning related to human capital management initiatives such as succession planning and change management projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex HR concepts clearly to senior leadership and diverse teams.

This position is hybrid including 2 days in office and 3 days remote. The first 3 months may require more than 2 days in the office for training purposes.

Pay: $145,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
