This opportunity is only available to candidates located within the Odessa/Midland, TX area. Candidates can work remotely from this geographical location.  Essential Responsibilities <ul> <li>Perform detailed design of all aspects of electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling as they relate to Substations and other power projects</li> <li>Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, motor starting, power factor, harmonic analysis and other related studies. Employee should create a simple hand check to quantify the computer aided results.</li> <li>Develop protective relay settings. Set, test, wire, and install relaying and control systems.</li> <li>Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies.</li> <li>Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as well as other commissioning activities</li> <li>Provide occasional field assistance and troubleshooting</li> <li>Checking the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as required</li> <li>Assists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings in-person and remotely</li> <li>Supports business development via Seller-Doer, assists with marketing tasks, and prepares proposals as needed</li> <li>Assists with establishing and managing engineering budget and scope expectations.</li> <li>Prepare technical write-up for applicable change orders</li> <li>Reviews submittals for conformance with client specifications and design</li> <li>Attends safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines</li> <li>Works additional time beyond 40 hours/week to complete projects, proposals and/or administrative functions, as required</li> <li>Maintains strong and responsive Company-Client relationships, particularly for communication pertaining to specific assignments and meeting topics</li> <li>Attends conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate, and graduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality of work</li> <li>Maintains high ethical and professional standards while showing strong judgement</li> <li>Maintains professional understanding of all applicable Codes and Standards, and construction practices</li> <li>Reviews and verifies the work of engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy</li> <li>Provides field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports</li> <li>Checking the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as required</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> Must Have <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred</li> <li>Experience: 7+ years of relevant engineering or field experience</li> <li>Licensure: FE is required; PE preferred</li> <li>Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution</li> <li>Base knowledge of Protection & Control Schemes</li> <li>Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design</li> <li>Proficiency with power system studies software such as PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM</li> <li>Previous experience coordinating and managing projects with key clients, customers, contractors and others</li> <li>Familiarity with the Oil & Gas market sector</li> <li>Assist with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings both remotely and in-person</li> <li>Possesses effective written and oral communications skills</li> <li>Good interpersonal and people skills</li> <li>Self-starter with strong initiative</li> <li>Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis</li> </ul> Pay Range - $125,000 - $175,000 base, + benefits, + year end bonus.  Disclaimer  While AI tools may support your application process, this role is built on human talent.
