Instead of putting people into rigid boxes, we view front-end engineering as a continuous journey of growth. Whether you're an associate just starting out, a mid-level developer refining your craft, a senior guiding architecture, or a team lead empowering others, you're part of a single, collaborative community.
When you submit your expression of interest, we'll work with you to match your current skills, experience, and career aspirations to the right level. As you progress through our front-end community, your focus will naturally expand from learning and hands-on delivery to strategic design and team leadership.
Here is how your influence and focus scale across our team:
- Scope of ownership: our associates start by taking ownership of individual tasks and learning our codebases under the wing of a mentor. Mid-level developers take ownership of entire features from design to deployment. Seniors drive engineering standards and architecture across our products, while our team leads take holistic ownership of the team's overall delivery and health.
- Technical mastery and architecture: you'll work with Angular 2+, TypeScript, and modern front-end tooling. Associates focus on building solid coding habits. Mid-levels design clean, maintainable components. Seniors architect scalable, modern front-end systems and maintain CI/CD pipelines, while team leads set the technical vision and remove architectural blockers for their team.
- Agile collaboration: you'll work within active, cross-functional Agile teams alongside testers, scrum masters, and product owners. While associates focus on learning agile practices, mid-levels and seniors actively drive solution designs and sprint goals. Team leads collaborate closely with delivery managers and product owners to shape roadmaps and team strategies.
- Mentorship and people leadership: learning and teaching are part of our DNA. Senior developers act as technical mentors, guiding design reviews and pairing with peers to elevate skills. Team leads take this to the next level, providing formal coaching, career development support, and empowering their team members to succeed.
- Risk and compliance: as a financial services organisation, keeping our systems secure and compliant is everyone's job. This starts with learning APRA standards as an associate, moves to implementing secure coding standards (like OWASP) and identifying operational risks at the mid and senior levels, and scales to driving a strong risk-aware culture across the whole team as a team lead.
Our technology stack
While we don't expect you to know everything on day one, we're looking for individuals who have experience with, or a strong interest in, the following tools and technologies:
- Our core stack: Angular 2+ (this is our primary framework), TypeScript, and JavaScript (ES 2015+)
- Testing and quality: unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing frameworks
- Collaboration tools: the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo)
- Advantageous extras: familiarity with React or Vue, Docker, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the GitLab DevOps platform.

We operate in a highly regulated financial services environment. Because we're committed to doing the right thing for our customers, risk management is a shared responsibility. Across all of our front-end roles, we expect our team members to:

- speak up and raise any potential risks, safety concerns, or compliance issues promptly and openly.
Location
Close to a variety of public transport and easy parking options, the Toowong office has excellent end of trip facilities (including secure bike storage and showers), outdoor spaces and plenty of modern collaborative areas to work and connect with colleagues.
Conveniently based at Toowong Village tower with views of the mountains and the Brisbane River, our location is only 4 km from the city and provides access to retail, restaurants and other amenities.
