Job Description
Backbase Americas is seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, experience with server-side development, and an understanding of modern distributed application architecture.
In this role, you will help develop technology solutions for digital banking platforms, build reliable backend services, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver innovative financial technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop secure and efficient server-side software components.
- Work with relational and NoSQL database systems.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and data security practices.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve software defects.
- Participate in code reviews and technical architecture discussions.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA specialists, and product teams.
- Support automated testing, deployment, and continuous integration.
Technical Skills
- Strong programming experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar backend languages.
- Knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Experience developing REST APIs and backend integrations.
- Understanding of SQL databases and data modeling.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Understanding of secure software development practices.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
