About the role

Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team on the Highways Connect Plus Services Scheme, this role will be based in and around the M25 Dartford area.

Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage, and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities creating communities where people want to live work and play.

We provide high quality asset strategy, management, and planning consultancy services to a wide range of public and private sector customers. We provide specialist, reliable, sustainable, and creative advice for asset management planning and implementation in the UK. We put our customers first and prioritise completing schemes safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the Project Manager of PDA from Inception to Close Out located across the entire

Network. Project types include but not limited to, Pavement projects, Safety improvement projects, Structures refurbishment, Geotechnical and Drainage works.

  • Assist the Project Managers on liaising with all Stakeholders for each project with particular focus on meeting requirement of National Highways (NH) and Connect Plus (CP) as primary Clients.
  • Project portfolio delivery to time, cost, quality and delivering the agreed outcomes with full supporting documentation to allow project close out.
  • Application of innovative and efficient design and construction methods to all projects
  • Support delivery of all projects in accordance with Zero Harm plan implemented by business

Who we're looking for

Qualifications/ skills:

  • Desirable Project Management Experience preferably supported by recognised PM qualification, PRINCE2, APMP etc or working towards such qualification.
  • Broad skills, knowledge and understanding of Highway or Structures Engineering and associated design areas.
  • Awareness of CDM and other H&S legislation

Experience:

  • Experience of assisting managing project delivery to existing highway or structures assets in a live operational environment or transferrable experience from a comparable role
  • Recent experience of coordinating interfaces with other disciplines and design teams
  • Experience of assisting managing projects through complete lifecycle
