Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias

Teesside / North East

£50,000 – £55,000 + Benefits

Permanent | Monday to Friday

We are supporting a well-established high-volume FMCG manufacturer with the appointment of an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to strengthen its engineering team.

This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced automated production environment, supporting a range of processing, filling, packaging and materials-handling equipment. The business is continuing to invest in its engineering capability and is looking for someone who can combine strong fault-finding skills with a proactive approach to reliability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across high-speed automated production equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
  • Fault-find PLC-controlled machinery, motors, drives, sensors and control systems
  • Support filling, packaging, conveyor and automated handling equipment
  • Complete PPM activity and contribute to root-cause analysis and reliability improvement
  • Support machinery upgrades, modifications and commissioning activity
  • Work closely with Production and Operations to improve equipment performance and line availability
  • Maintain high standards of engineering safety, documentation and housekeeping

What We’re Looking For

  • Experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias
  • Strong hands-on electrical fault-finding capability within a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Good mechanical capability across conveyors, pneumatics, bearings, drives and production machinery
  • Experience within FMCG, food, packaging, process or other automated manufacturing environments
  • PLC fault-finding experience, with Siemens exposure highly desirable
  • Experience with Krones equipment would be a strong advantage
  • Exposure to canning, filling or high-speed packaging lines preferable
  • Relevant electrical or engineering qualifications
  • Proactive approach to PPM, breakdown response and continuous improvement

Working pattern: Monday to Friday

Pay: £47,500.00-£55,000.00 per year
