As the business continues to grow, we're looking for an Operations & Events Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operational side of Benissimo. This is a hands-on management position. We're looking for someone who can organise the operation behind the scenes and then lead the team when we're out catering. A Role Built Around Seasonal Working Events and hospitality can often mean unpredictable income and reduced hours during winter. We're offering something different. You'll receive a guaranteed £2,000 gross salary every month throughout the year, giving you a consistent income even during our quieter periods. The position operates using annualised hours. You'll work fewer hours during quieter periods and more during our busy spring and summer event season, averaging approximately 29 hours per week across the year. Any agreed hours worked above your annual contracted hours will be paid as additional overtime. You'll also have the opportunity to earn a performance-related bonus. What You'll Be Responsible For You'll take responsibility for making sure Benissimo's events are properly staffed, stocked, prepared and ready to operate. Your duties will include: - Organising staff rotas and allocating teams to events - Managing and supervising event staff - Driving company vans - Towing our mobile catering trailers - Delivering, setting up and collecting catering units - Preparing trailers and equipment before events - Managing food, drink, packaging and consumable stock - Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies - Collecting stock from wholesalers and suppliers - Ensuring every event leaves with the correct stock and equipment - Managing events and overseeing service - Cooking and serving pizzas alongside the team when required - Maintaining our food quality and customer-service standards - Managing food hygiene, temperature records and allergen procedures - Checking vehicles, trailers and catering equipment - Identifying and reporting maintenance issues - Training and supporting members of the team - Liaising with customers, venues and event organisers - Dealing with operational problems as they arise - Reporting directly to the Director Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone practical, organised and dependable who is comfortable taking responsibility. You won't need someone standing over you telling you what needs doing. If stock is running low, you'll deal with it. If an event needs staffing, you'll organise it. If a trailer needs preparing for the following day, you'll make sure it's ready. Essential Requirements You must: - Hold a full UK driving licence - Be confident driving commercial vans - Be confident and competent towing trailers - Be comfortable managing and directing a small team - Be organised and able to plan ahead - Be willing to work evenings and weekends - Be comfortable with seasonal variations in working hours - Be able to work independently and make sensible decisions - Have good customer-service and communication skills - Be willing to travel throughout Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas - Be willing to work hands-on alongside the team Experience within catering, hospitality, events, logistics or operations would be an advantage. Relevant food-safety training can be provided. Salary, Hours & Bonus £24,000 guaranteed annual salary Paid as £2,000 gross per month throughout the year. The position is based on approximately 1,500 annualised working hours, meaning working hours will vary depending on the time of year. You can expect quieter working periods during parts of the winter and significantly busier periods during the main events and wedding season. Additional agreed hours above the contracted annual hours will be paid as overtime. A performance-related bonus of up to £2,000 per year will also be available, based on areas such as successful event delivery, staff management, stock control, customer feedback and overall operational performance. The Opportunity We're looking for someone who wants more than simply another catering job. The right person will become a key part of Benissimo and gradually take ownership of the operational side of the business. Our aim is for you to be able to organise the staff, prepare the units, manage the stock and successfully run events without requiring constant supervision.
