About the role:
Our client in the Material Handling sector is looking for a motivated Junior CAD Technical Draughtsperson with around one year of experience to join their Innovation Team to improve efficiency, accuracy, and long-term operational performance for their delivery to their clients.
The desired candidate will produce accurate technical drawings and 2D/3D models from sketches, specifications and engineering input, working under the guidance of senior draughtspeople and engineers. This is a great opportunity to build your skills on real projects in the Material Handling field.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software, based on sketches, markups and specifications
- Produce general arrangement, fabrication, assembly and detail drawings that comply with relevant SANS and ISO drafting standards
- Update and revise existing drawings as directed, keeping revision control accurate
- Create bills of materials (BOMs), cut lists and drawing registers
- Check drawings for errors and consistency before submission for review
- Maintain an organised electronic drawing filing system and document control process
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, suppliers and workshop or site staff to clarify drawing requirements
- Assist with site measurements and as-built surveys where required
- Adhere to company quality, health and safety procedures
Qualifications & experience:
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics (Technical Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy with strong technical aptitude may be considered) and Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) or Technical Drawing
- National Certificate (N6) or National Diploma in Engineering Graphics and Design, Draughting, or a related field [or equivalent NQF Level 5 qualification]
- At least 1 year of practical experience in a CAD / draughting role
- Proficiency in [AutoCAD / Inventor / SolidWorks / Revit / Civil 3D]
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches and specifications
- Sound knowledge of drawing standards, dimensioning and tolerancing
Pay: From R15 000,00 per month
