**POSITION PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE**

The position contributes towards a healthy team environment by working collaboratively

to facilitate the successful delivery of day\-to\-day business processes, systems and

reporting associated with the functioning of the Blue Mountains Animal Care Centre.

**RELATIONSHIPS**

**Reports to** *(Position Title)***:** Program Leader, Ranger Services / BMACC

**Report to** *(Position Number)***:** P01148

**Staff Responsibility:** Nil

**Key Internal Relationships:** BMCC Rangers, Communications Branch,

finance, purchasing, and other team members.

**Key External Relationships:** Customers, animal owners, vets, suppliers,

volunteers and other partnership services.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Work with colleagues to digitally track, monitor, and report on the status of animals

held at the centre including entry and exit details, health and behavioural assessments,

veterinary care, sustenance, exercise routines, etc. * Facilitate and maintain digital volunteer engagement / registration systems. * Identify data integrity issues and / or data gaps and initiate action to address them. * Write content, take imagery for use on digital platforms, for lost and found / rehoming

of animals. * Develop positive customer experiences that ensure the smooth running of the service. * Complete regulatory reports, partnership reports and other key (current / historical or

trend) statistical or informational data required. * Take / follow up on payments; issue and reconcile accounts for the service. * Purchase equipment and supplies as required.

* Engage in business generating activities; organise promotional opportunities for the

service, in collaboration with the service coordinator. * Provide training and resources to build and maintain digital skills / capacity in the

procedural / administrative requirements of the service.

**WORKPLACE HEALTH \& SAFETY**

Ensure compliance with WHS obligations and responsibilities as outlined in Councils

policies and procedures and under the relevant WHS legislation. These include but are

not limited to: identifying potentially unsafe situations or work practices and notifying your

Supervisor or Manager (or the Health, Safety Manager/Area Safety Representative);

never performing a task that you believe is dangerous or for which you do not have the

experience, or have not received appropriate instructions and training or where the correct

equipment to carry out the task safely is not available; always work in a safe manner and

in accordance with safety instructions, where applicable; use the work equipment supplied

for the job, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions), and any personal

protective equipment, which the Council deems necessary and has provided; be safety

aware and report any actions to your line manager which will assist the Council to meet

its legal workplace health and safety obligations.

at all times to comply with Council’s Asbestos Management Plan and Policy.

**COMMUNICATION**

* The position uses a broad range of communication skills to define and promote

opportunities, outputs, and achievements. * Business strategies are developed in conjunction with a wide range of people including

internal and external customers. * A plain English approach to complex issues is required to ensure that standard

documentation and digital content is well designed, can be easily understood and

interpreted in a consistent manner.

Address operational issues and balance workload fluctuations to ensure successful

completion of priorities. Evaluate and analyse available information to determine

innovative / lateral solutions. Unusual issues may be referred for clarity of policy or

direction.

the impact of service changes and business strategies on processes and systems.

Implement, monitor, and make variations to ensure compliance and / or performance

improvements.

**SKILL, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS \& BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES**

**Qualifications:** Certificate or post\-certificate level qualifications or knowledge /

experience in the required competencies associated with the most complex areas of the

job.

Current drivers licence.

**Job knowledge:** Skills in administrative systems and processes / sound working

knowledge of marketing and / or use of digital communications.

**Client focus:** Demonstrated ability to deal with people in a respectful, helpful, and

responsive manner.

**Communication:** Record of simplifying complex information to communicate issues.

Design skills and Plain English approach to writing for digital platforms.

**Technology use:** Adept in the use of a range of software programs with a proven record

of content management via web\-based technologies and social media.
