What awaits you/ Job Profile
- You will shape the future BMW vehicles dynamics by bringing brake systems to life through precise CAD modelling, Concept and engineering execution.
- Contribute to concept development, CAD engineering, packaging, integration, and validation of vehicle height sensing systems for passenger vehicles.
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and release documentation for height sensors, linkages, brackets, and mounting systems.
- Support complete product development activities from concept phase through series production.
- Collaborate with Chassis, Suspension, Electronics, Vehicle Dynamics, Lighting, Body, Testing, Manufacturing, and Supplier Engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with vehicle performance, durability, reliability, functional safety, quality, weight, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
- Support prototype builds, vehicle integration activities, validation programs, and engineering change management activities.
What should you bring along
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field. ?Minimum 8-12 years of experience in automotive chassis electronics, suspension systems, or sensor development for passenger vehicles.

Knowledge of automotive design standards, engineering release processes, and product development methodologies.

Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers in wheel product development.

Proactive, teamwork-oriented mindset with the ability to operate in a matrix environment.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Proficiency in English, additional German language skills are an advantage.

Design and development of: Suspension Height Sensors, Ride Height Sensors, Air Suspension Position Sensors, Headlamp Leveling Sensors

Adaptive Chassis Control Height Sensors
-
Strong understanding of vehicle ride-height measurement principles.

Knowledge of sensor mounting, linkage mechanisms, lever arm design, and motion transfer systems.
-
Understanding of front axle and rear axle height sensor applications.
-
Experience defining sensor installation locations, package clearances, and operating envelopes.
-
Understanding of sensor output characteristics and signal accuracy requirements.
-
Experience with sensor calibration methodologies and vehicle commissioning requirements.
-
Knowledge of sensor diagnostics and fault detection strategies.
-
Understanding of sensor redundancy and signal plausibility concepts.

Experience integrating sensors with:

Knowledge of EMI/EMC requirements for automotive electronic components.

Knowledge of sensor performance validation and calibration activities.

Understanding of failure mode analysis and reliability assessments.

Experience with DFMEA and risk assessment methodologies.

Awareness of Functional Safety concepts and ISO 26262 requirements.

Support issue investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

Create component specifications and validation documentation.

Support design reviews and technical feasibility studies.

Manage engineering changes throughout the development lifecycle.

- CATIA V5/V6 Part Design, Assembly Design, GSD, and Drafting.
- Teamcenter, ENOVIA, or equivalent PLM systems.
- GD&T and Tolerance Stack-up Analysis.
- Automotive Sensor Development Experience.
- Chassis Electronics and Control Systems Knowledge.
- CANoe, CANalyzer, INCA, or equivalent diagnostic tools.
- DFMEA, DVP methodologies.
- Functional Safety (ISO 26262) awareness.
- Automotive SPICE process awareness.
- Root Cause Analysis, 8D, Six Sigma, and Problem-Solving tools.
- Experience with Air Suspension and Adaptive Chassis Systems.
- Knowledge of Headlamp Auto-Leveling Systems.
- EV and Hybrid Vehicle Chassis Electronics Development.
- Supplier Management and Technical Coordination experience.
- Experience in global vehicle development programs.
