**Job Description** **Roles \& Responsibilities :**

The BMS System Test/Validation Engineer deployed for the customer projects will support Battery Management System (BMS) testing, validation, commissioning, and system performance analysis. This role focuses on laboratory and field verification of BMS functionality, safety, reliability, and compliance with system requirements and industry standards. The engineer will develop and execute test plans, analyze system performance, support certification activities, and provide commissioning support through system integration, troubleshooting, root\-cause analysis, and issue resolution to ensure successful deployment and operation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

**Key Responsibilities**

* Develop and execute BMS validation and verification testing at cell, module, pack, and system levels. * Perform functional, performance, fault\-injection, environmental, and stress testing of BMS features. * Analyze test and field data to evaluate SOC, SOH, SOP, cell balancing, fault detection, protection functions, and overall system performance. * Develop, review, and maintain test plans, test procedures, validation reports, and requirements traceability. * Support testing activities at internal laboratories and external certification laboratories (UL, IEC, CSA). * Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, manufacturing, and supplier teams to debug issues and drive corrective actions. * Develop Automated testing solution with emulators which support end of line testing. * Perform root\-cause analysis of BMS, battery, communication, and system integration issues. * Support site commissioning, startup, and system integration activities for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). * Troubleshoot BMS, communication, and system\-level issues encountered during commissioning and field deployment. * Support Site Acceptance Testing , performance verification, issue resolution, and customer support activities during commissioning. * Drive continuous improvement of testing, commissioning, validation processes, tools, and documentation.

**Qualifications** **Required Qualifications**

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Controls, Computer Engineering, or a related field. * 5–10\+ years of experience in BMS testing, validation, commissioning, or battery systems engineering. * Strong understanding of battery systems, BMS architecture, battery safety functions, and system integration. * Hands\-on experience with laboratory testing, instrumentation, data acquisition, and debugging of battery systems. * Experience supporting BESS commissioning, startup, and field troubleshooting activities. * Familiarity with requirements and test management tools such as Jama, DOORS, Jira, or TestRail. * Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or similar data analysis and engineering tools. * Knowledge of communication protocols including CAN, SPI, Modbus, and Ethernet. * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root\-cause analysis skills. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with customers, suppliers, and cross\-functional teams. * Ability to travel to customer and project sites to support commissioning and field investigations. * Experience with battery system certification standards and testing agencies (UL, IEC, CSA) is preferred.

**Work location:** customer office in Bangalore, near Purple Line

**Work from Office:** as per customer policies

**Working hours:** overlap with global teams needed

**Travel requirements:** business travels within India and outside would be required to visit customer’s labs/sites
