Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday

Contract: Temporary till March 2027

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to oversee three supported accommodation projects for young people in Cardiff.

This is a hands-on management role, providing leadership across three small supported housing services with a combined capacity of 16 young people. The projects consist of 7 beds, 4 beds and 5 beds.

You will lead a small team of approximately 2–3 Support Workers, alongside night staff, ensuring the services are safe, well managed and provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or Project Manager looking to take responsibility for multiple supported accommodation services and develop their management experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of three supported accommodation projects.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to Support Workers and night staff.
  • Ensure young people receive safe, consistent and person-centred support.
  • Oversee support planning, risk management, safeguarding and case management.
  • Monitor the quality of support provided and ensure appropriate standards are maintained.
  • Support staff through supervision, team meetings and day-to-day guidance.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and challenging situations.
  • Work closely with social services, housing teams and other external agencies.
  • Ensure records, reports and other documentation are completed to a high standard.
  • Monitor the condition and safety of the accommodation.
  • Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for young people.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.

About You

We are looking for someone with previous experience in supported accommodation, housing, homelessness, children's/young people's services or social care, ideally with experience of supervising or managing staff.

  • Experience supporting young people with complex or multiple needs.
  • Previous experience of managing or supervising a team.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage incidents and challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals.
  • A person-centred, trauma-informed and strengths-based approach.
  • Confidence working independently and making appropriate decisions.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferred but is not essential.
