Responsibilities


PRIMARY PURPOSE

Provides specialized analysis and advice to internal and external stakeholders in the analysis and investigation of security related systems and incidents involving public, employees, contractors and company assets through technical and statistical methods.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Participates in reviews and prepares audio, video, access control and other confidential reports and helps in investigations for TransLink Claims, Transit Police, jurisdictional Police Department, Court and Crown Counsel on active police and court files. Gathers, processes and analyses confidential data of evidentiary value collected from various sources such as CCV, digital and audio/visual communications, access control monitoring, surveillance systems, data systems or media, ensuring adherence to privacy legislation. Maintains and stores audio/ video in accordance with regulations and legislation and evidence retention requirements and testifies in court as a witness/expert.

Supports the Sr. Security Specialist in the development of the appropriate access control and CCTV policies, processes and documentation, risk assessment and mitigation. Supports the implementation of Access Control Systems and the assets integration, including Card Access, Keys and Key Safes and supports the development of the Group Access Matrix based on the business requirement and the security clearance level.

Provides specialized analysis and confidential advice on Violence Prevention that includes comprehensive data collection and analysis on assaults against employees; develops victim impact statements, liaises with Transit Police and jurisdictional Police Departments.

Audits the hardware performance and user interface/access and analyses efficiencies and effectiveness; provides recommendations and corrective actions as and when needed. Provide information for reports and analyses for targeted areas in response from Media, Executive team, Senior Leaders and FOI and Claims requests.

Acts as a confidential recorder of offence coding logs and handling of corporate security records. Provide information for security operational files and prepares reports, graphs and charts on security issues.

Maintains systems, records, exhibits, and diary dates, authorizing the removal and addition of entries for accurate and reliable evidence in investigations and criminal/civil proceedings. Liaises with other departments for any investigation as required.

Advises management, contractors and staff on policy, procedural requirements, departmental systems, and recommends improvements to the Manager.

Qualifications


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

The requirements for this job are acquired through a diploma in Security or a related discipline, complemented by course work in accident causation, trending and analysis, statistics, video imaging, and digitizing analog signals, plus four (4) years of related experience in a security regulatory capacity.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Strong technical skills and experience in Security and Access Control systems with Audio/Video production & editing

Solid knowledge of the principles and practices of security

Solid interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of management and other stakeholders

Strong statistics and analytical skills to support analysis of injury claims, costs, and security and system security incidents.

Strong skills in standard office software and proficiency in other specialized software applications

Strong graphical presentation and reporting skills

A Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) designation or equivalent would be an asset.

Other Information


Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Rate of Pay


The salary for this position ranges from $77,520 - $116,280 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
