Canara Woodworking, BUILD IT's sister company, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager to join its team and lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of premium custom millwork projects.
About Canara Woodworking
Canara Woodworking Inc. is a full-service custom millwork company specializing in the hospitality industry. Founded in 2001, we've grown from a 1,000 sq ft shop into a nearly 30,000 sq ft facility, delivering turnkey millwork solutions from design through final install for major commercial, residential, and retail projects.
The Role
We're looking for a Project Manager to own our millwork projects end-to-end — from shop drawing approval through production scheduling, procurement, and on-site installation. You'll be the main point of contact for clients, general contractors, and designers, keeping projects on schedule, on budget, and to spec.
What You'll Do
- Manage assigned millwork projects from intake through installation and close-out
- Review architectural drawings and coordinate shop drawing development with the design/drafting team
- Build and manage production schedules with shop floor supervisors to keep jobs on track
- Track project budgets, material costs, and labour hours; flag and resolve variances early
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and designers throughout the project
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Coordinate site measurements, deliveries, and installation crews
- Perform quality checks to ensure finished work meets specifications and design intent
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks or scheduling conflicts on the shop floor
- Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular status updates
What You Bring
- At least 5 years of experience project managing, ideally in millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, or a related custom manufacturing/construction environment
- Strong working knowledge of shop drawings, architectural drawings, and millwork terminology
- Experience coordinating directly with general contractors, designers, and clients on commercial or hospitality projects
- Comfort managing multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with project management/scheduling tools
- Valid driver's license (site visits required)
Nice to have: familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software; prior experience on hospitality, hotel, or restaurant millwork projects.
Compensation: $60,000–$80,000/year
