About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Business Development & Sales Manager to join our restaurant team and help drive growth, increase revenue and build strong relationships with new and existing customers.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the hospitality industry, enjoys building relationships and knows how to identify new opportunities. You will be responsible for developing new business, growing our customer base, managing key accounts and supporting the restaurant’s overall sales and marketing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential customers.
Develop partnerships with local businesses, corporate clients, event organisers, hotels, tour operators and other relevant organisations.
Develop strategies to increase restaurant sales, bookings and market share.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Identify opportunities for new markets, products, services, events and dining experiences.
Develop corporate, private dining, group booking and event opportunities.
Sales & Account Management
Manage and develop existing customer and corporate accounts.
Understand client requirements and recommend appropriate dining, catering, private hire or event services.
Prepare quotations and negotiate commercial terms, contracts and pricing where appropriate.
Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve account issues promptly.
Maintain regular communication with key customers to encourage repeat business and long-term relationships.
Sales Strategy & Targets
Work closely with senior management to establish sales priorities, products and services.
Contribute to the restaurant's sales strategy and set achievable revenue targets.
Monitor performance against KPIs, bookings and revenue targets.
Identify opportunities to increase average spend, repeat visits, group bookings and event revenue.
Provide regular updates and recommendations to management.
Market Research
Research local customers, competitors and hospitality market trends.
Identify emerging customer needs and new commercial opportunities.
Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, menus, events and services.
Keep up to date with changes in the local restaurant and hospitality market.
Sales & Marketing Analysis
Compile and analyse sales and booking data.
Prepare sales forecasts and management reports.
Work with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and initiatives.
Recommend campaigns, partnerships and events designed to increase customer traffic and revenue.
Analyse the effectiveness of sales and marketing activities and make recommendations to senior management.
Team Management
Support, train and supervise junior sales/business development staff where applicable.
Set objectives and monitor team performance.
Work closely with restaurant management and front-of-house teams to ensure excellent customer service and smooth delivery of events and bookings.
Encourage a positive, commercially focused team culture.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in business development, sales or account management, ideally within restaurants, hospitality, events or leisure.
Confident building relationships with clients and generating new business.
Commercially aware and motivated by achieving sales and revenue targets.
A strong communicator and negotiator.
Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Comfortable working with sales figures, KPIs and performance reports.
Customer-focused with a strong understanding of hospitality and service.
Confident approaching businesses and developing corporate partnerships.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the restaurant management team.
