Position: Assistant Manager – Quality (QC & QA) Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu Industry: Engineering / Precision Manufacturing / Machine Shop Experience: 6–8 Years CTC: ₹50,000 – ₹80,000 per month Joining: Immediate Joiners Preferred
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Quality (QC & QA) to lead and strengthen quality operations within a machine shop / CNC machining environment. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in machined components, in-process inspection, final inspection, quality systems, customer quality requirements and rejection reduction.
Machine Shop / CNC machining experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities in the machine shop.
- Monitor quality at incoming, in-process and final inspection stages.
- Ensure machined components meet customer drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Review and implement Quality Control Plans, Inspection Standards and SOPs.
- Handle dimensional inspection using Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, CMM and other precision measuring instruments.
- Analyse internal rejection, customer complaints, rework and rejection trends.
- Drive Root Cause Analysis, CAPA and Corrective/Preventive Actions.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Tool Room and Maintenance teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure proper implementation of 7 QC tools, 8D, RCA, Pareto, Fishbone and Why-Why analysis.
- Monitor process capability and support continuous quality improvement.
- Handle customer quality issues and coordinate responses, corrective actions and improvement plans.
- Maintain quality documentation, inspection records and monthly quality reports.
- Support ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality-system requirements, where applicable.
- Lead and guide Quality Engineers, Inspectors and shop-floor quality personnel.
- Conduct regular process audits and ensure adherence to quality procedures.
- Reduce rejection, rework, customer complaints and quality-related costs.
- Participate in new product development and support APQP / PPAP / FMEA / MSA / SPC activities where required.
Mandatory Requirements
- 6–8 years of relevant Quality experience.
- Mandatory experience in Machine Shop / CNC Machining / Precision Engineering.
- Strong experience in machined components and dimensional quality inspection.
- Good knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T and tolerances.
- Hands-on knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Experience in RCA, CAPA, 8D and quality improvement activities.
- Experience handling customer quality issues and rejection reduction.
- Good team-handling and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Candidates from Automotive / Auto Components / Precision Engineering / CNC Machining / Industrial Engineering industries are preferred.
Educational Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Ideal Candidate Profile
6–8 years Quality experience + strong Machine Shop/CNC machining background + hands-on dimensional inspection + customer quality handling + RCA/CAPA + team management.

Salary & Location
₹50,000 – ₹80,000 per month Coimbatore – On-site
Note: Candidates with only general QA/QC experience but without machine-shop/CNC machining exposure should not be considered.
