Position Summary: Reporting to the COO, the CFO is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, and financial reporting. Organization goals include growing revenue, controlling/reducing costs, and assisting in achieving customer service targets. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset to the role, capable of not only managing the company's finances but also contributing to overall strategy and growth initiatives. This position reports directly to the COO and works closely with other senior leaders to drive financial performance and operational excellence.
Specific responsibilities and goals include:
- Oversees and responsible for Finance, IT, Security departments.
- Lead, develop and supervise a large Finance team consisting of some 36 team members including treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial accountants. The Finance management structure within the team consists of 3 controllers and 3 supervisors.
- Oversee the finance department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function; and overall controls to safeguard corporate assets.
- Participate in monthly departmental financial meetings and provide meaningful analysis and facilitate actionable next steps for both finance and operations
- Serve as a key point of contact for our third party Accounting firm; manage overall budget, timing and planning with third party Accounting firm for the Corporate Group.
- Coordinate with legal counsel and ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements regarding finances.
- Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses, tax savings opportunities and process efficiencies in all areas of the company.
- Lead the Corporate Business Planning process and develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
- Oversee the budgeting process, including the development of models for revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures based on business goals and utilizing comp set KPI’s.
- Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work with department heads to monitor performance and identify areas for financial improvement
- Analyze, recommend and drive operating managers to achieve and exceed targets
- Provide reporting that summarizes business unit performance of all assets/operations
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
- Assess and manage risks by utilizing information from Finance, Security and other departments
Qualifications:
- CPA designation
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience with a privately owned company preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a large team.
- In-depth knowledge of financial laws, risk management, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex financial information in an understandable way.
- Proficient in financial management software and Excel.
