San Jose, CA, United States (On-site) Contract (5 months 13 days) Published 17 hours ago Prototyping & Testing Stakeholder presentations figma Technical design documentation UX Design product design telecommunications Technical collaboration & coordination
About The Team:
- Billions of minutes of voice and video run through Webex every month. The Webex Calling Experiences team designs the end-to-end calling journey for millions of users across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise enterprise environments.
- Our work spans everyday calling flows, admin and configuration experiences, desktop and mobile surfaces, hardware endpoints, accessibility, and emerging AI-assisted workflows.
- These are not simple dial pads.
- They are business-critical communication experiences used by global companies, healthcare systems, education institutions, and governments.
- We are looking for a Senior Product Designer contractor who can bring clarity to complex systems, collaborate closely with product and engineering, and turn user needs, technical constraints, and product strategy into intuitive, reliable, scalable, and accessible experiences.
What You’ll Do:
- Design end-to-end calling experiences across Webex desktop, web, mobile, and device surfaces.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, architects, researchers, and other designers to define user flows, interaction models, and implementation-ready designs.
- Proactively identify opportunities where user needs, product strategy, and platform capabilities intersect, then use design artifacts, prototypes, and storytelling to help the team align on direction.
- Explore how AI-assisted and agentic workflows can improve real-time communication without adding friction or reducing user trust.
- Create prototypes at the right level of fidelity, from quick workflow explorations to polished concepts for stakeholder alignment, usability testing, and engineering handoff.
- Use Company’s design system to produce consistent, scalable experiences while identifying gaps or new patterns needed for calling-specific use cases.
- Validate design decisions through usability testing, heuristic review, customer feedback, and collaboration with UX research.
- Document interaction behavior, accessibility considerations, edge cases, and design rationale for product teams.
- Help align teams around a shared product direction through strong storytelling, systems thinking, and pragmatic design judgment.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of product design, UX design, or equivalent experience designing complex digital products.
- A portfolio that shows strong systems thinking, interaction design, product judgment, and the ability to simplify complex workflows.
- Experience designing for enterprise SaaS, collaboration tools, communications platforms, admin tooling, or similarly complex product ecosystems.
- Strong product intuition and the ability to connect user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into clear design direction.
- A proactive approach to identifying gaps, framing opportunities, and helping teams make better product decisions before solutions are fully defined.
- Strong command of Figma, prototyping, design systems, accessibility, and modern product design practices.
- A practical accessibility mindset, including familiarity with WCAG and inclusive design principles.
- Comfort working with ambiguity, technical complexity, and fast-moving product priorities.
- Strong collaboration skills with product management, engineering, research, and design partners.
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate design exploration, prototyping, research synthesis, or workflow generation, paired with clear judgment about where human design thinking matters most.
Nice To Have:
- Experience with telecommunications, calling, meetings, messaging, contact center, or real-time communication products.
- Experience designing AI-assisted workflows, automation, agents, or intelligent recommendations.
- Experience working across multiple platforms, including desktop, mobile, web, and hardware-integrated experiences.
- Familiarity with enterprise admin, provisioning, compliance, security, or regulated customer environments.
