CGI is seeking enthusiastic Frontend Developers (UI/UX) to join our growing Digital Experience team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals with approximately one year of hands-on frontend development or UI/UX experience who are looking to build their careers on enterprise-scale projects.
Working alongside experienced developers, UX designers, and business analysts, you'll design and develop modern, responsive web applications while gaining hands-on experience with the latest frontend technologies and Agile delivery practices. Experience in the financial services industry is considered an asset but is not required.
These are full-time permanent opportunities based in Halifax, NS; Moncton, NB; or Stratford, PEI. This role requires working onsite five days per week from one of CGI's offices.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design and develop modern, responsive, and accessible user interfaces for web applications.
- Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into engaging user experiences.
- Develop reusable frontend components using modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
- Participate in UI design reviews and contribute ideas to improve usability and accessibility.
- Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and backend services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve UI defects while ensuring cross-browser compatibility and responsive design.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and team collaboration activities.
- Contribute to testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging frontend technologies, design trends, and best practices.
- Work closely with senior team members while continuing to develop your technical and professional skills.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Development, Interactive Media, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Design, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 1+ year of hands-on experience developing modern web applications or completing relevant co-op, internship, or project experience.
- Experience developing responsive web applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar.
- Understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive design, accessibility, and user-centered design practices.
- Experience consuming REST APIs and working with JSON data.
- Familiarity with Git and version control.
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for learning new technologies and building exceptional digital experiences.

The following qualifications would be considered assets:
- Experience with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar design tools.
- Experience with frontend testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Experience with cloud-hosted web applications.
- Experience within financial services or other regulated industries.
- Portfolio, GitHub repository, or examples of frontend/UI work.
