CGI is seeking enthusiastic Frontend Developers (UI/UX) to join our growing Digital Experience team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals with approximately one year of hands-on frontend development or UI/UX experience who are looking to build their careers on enterprise-scale projects.

Working alongside experienced developers, UX designers, and business analysts, you'll design and develop modern, responsive web applications while gaining hands-on experience with the latest frontend technologies and Agile delivery practices. Experience in the financial services industry is considered an asset but is not required.

These are full-time permanent opportunities based in Halifax, NS; Moncton, NB; or Stratford, PEI. This role requires working onsite five days per week from one of CGI's offices.

Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Design and develop modern, responsive, and accessible user interfaces for web applications.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into engaging user experiences.
  • Develop reusable frontend components using modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
  • Participate in UI design reviews and contribute ideas to improve usability and accessibility.
  • Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and backend services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve UI defects while ensuring cross-browser compatibility and responsive design.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and team collaboration activities.
  • Contribute to testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current with emerging frontend technologies, design trends, and best practices.
  • Work closely with senior team members while continuing to develop your technical and professional skills.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Development, Interactive Media, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Design, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 1+ year of hands-on experience developing modern web applications or completing relevant co-op, internship, or project experience.
  • Experience developing responsive web applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar.
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive design, accessibility, and user-centered design practices.
  • Experience consuming REST APIs and working with JSON data.
  • Familiarity with Git and version control.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and building exceptional digital experiences.

Assets

The following qualifications would be considered assets:

  • Experience with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar design tools.
  • Experience with frontend testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience with cloud-hosted web applications.
  • Experience within financial services or other regulated industries.
  • Portfolio, GitHub repository, or examples of frontend/UI work.
