This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week subject to change at any time.
We are seeking a senior technology leader with a strong background in software development, solution architecture, and production support. The successful candidate will guide solution design and technical delivery for AWS and Node.js applications while overseeing service delivery in a product support environment.
This role combines hands-on architectural leadership with service management. The candidate will work with development, operations, product, and business teams to maintain reliable services, resolve production issues, and deliver improvements that meet business needs.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Provide technical and architectural leadership for AWS and Node.js solutions.
Review existing systems and recommend solution designs, enhancements, and modernization approaches.
Guide developers in designing, building, integrating, and supporting production applications.
Oversee service delivery for product support, ensuring services meet agreed expectations and operational targets.
Coordinate incident, problem, and change management activities, including escalation and root cause analysis.
Monitor service performance, identify recurring issues, and lead plans to improve reliability and efficiency.
Partner with product owners, project managers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand priorities and delivery needs.
Manage delivery plans, resources, risks, dependencies, and status communications.
Support production releases and ensure appropriate readiness, documentation, and transition to support.
Ensure teams follow architecture, security, operational, and quality standards.
Communicate service status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leaders.
Promote collaboration and continuous improvement across development and support teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Significant experience in software development and solution architecture.
- Strong experience designing and supporting applications built with AWS and Node.js.
- Proven project management experience, including planning and managing scope, schedules, resources, risks, dependencies, deliverables, and stakeholder communications
- Experience working in production support or product support environments.
- Experience leading technical teams and coordinating delivery across development and operations.
- Knowledge of incident, problem, and change management practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to balance architectural direction, operational needs, and delivery priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based application modernization and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability tools.
- Experience managing service levels, operational risks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Relevant AWS, architecture, Agile, or IT service management certifications.
