The Engagement Manager (EM) is fully accountable for the engagement strategy, commercial performance and client relationship of assigned accounts or industry portfolios. The role ensures Chain IQ delivers sustainable value by aligning client objectives, contractual commitments, and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Account Strategy & Ownership
- Own and continuously evolve the overall account strategy, aligned with client objectives and Chain IQ priorities.
- Drive strategic initiatives, transformations and account roadmaps, including corrective and “go-to-green” actions.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and stakeholder alignment.
Performance, KPIs & Governance
- Drive account performance and client satisfaction, overseeing agreed KPIs and value realization.
- Lead strategic governance forums and manage key account risks, issues and dependencies.
- Ensure effective cross-functional coordination and escalation across the account.
Commercial & Financial Ownership
- Own account-level P&L, profitability, commercial performance and business case delivery.
- Support contract negotiations, account growth opportunities and the transition of new engagements.
Leadership
- Lead and develop the Engagement Operations team.
- Align internal teams and resources around account strategy, priorities and effective execution.
Experience, Skills & Mindset
- 8+ years in consulting or SCM/Procurement related leadership roles.
- Track record in commercial ownership (specifically on cost-side).
- Solid understanding of procurement, outsourcing, and value delivery models.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen (KPIs, savings, profitability, forecasting).
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams with and without formal authority.
- Strong executive‑level communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Client‑centric, value‑oriented professional services approach.
- Hands-on ownership mindset with high accountability and follow‑through.
- Collaborative, influence‑driven, and solution‑oriented.
- Fluency in German and English
