Are you a known multi-tasker who still loves to stop to hear a great story?

Let us set the scene. It is Monday morning and you are planning communications for next month’s awareness campaign. By lunch you are meeting with a Service Manager to finalise event resources. By Friday, you have uncovered a story that perfectly captures the impact of our work and shared it across the organisation.

If you love being highly organised, are naturally curious and want to help people connect to a shared purpose, this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.

At Churches of Christ, we have spent more than 140 years supporting individuals, families, and communities. Behind every service, every employee and every milestone is a story worth telling.

Our Communications team is growing, and they are looking for someone who can bring structure, planning and creativity together. Someone who can manage a busy communications calendar, coordinate multiple moving parts, and still recognise a great story when they hear one.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will play a key role in delivering communications that connect our people, celebrate our impact and support engagement across the organisation.

This role starts with organisation.

You will work closely with our Events Team to coordinate significant days, awareness campaigns, and communication activities across the year. You will bring order to competing priorities, make sure communications are delivered on time and help ensure every campaign lands with impact.

Alongside that, you will help uncover and share stories from across our services. You will build relationships, ask great questions, and create content that helps employees connect with our purpose and each other.

Your focus will include:

  • Coordinating our significant dates and awareness calendar, ensuring campaigns and communications are delivered on time.
  • Supporting event communications before, during and after key organisational events.
  • Developing communication toolkits, resources, and collateral to support campaigns and engagement initiatives.
  • Building relationships across service areas to identify meaningful stories and opportunities.
  • Writing engaging content for internal communications, employee engagement, and organisational storytelling.
  • Supporting recognition programs, culture initiatives, and people-focused communications.
  • Maintaining content calendars and helping manage communication workflows across multiple projects.

You might come from communications, employee engagement, journalism, marketing, or a related field. Most importantly, you are someone who loves bringing order to complexity and enjoys finding the stories that help people feel connected.

You will bring:

  • Exceptional organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Experience managing content calendars, campaigns, or communication plans.
  • Strong writing and editing capability across a range of formats.
  • Confidence building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Curiosity, initiative and a genuine interest in people and their stories.
  • Experience creating digital content and using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or similar platforms.
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to attend services and events as required.
