Qualification \| BE in Computer or any relevant Bachelor's,Masters degree Experience (in years) \| 7 Job Description \| About the Role: As a Senior Application Engineer\-I(Lead), you design and develop sophisticated applications that meet user requirements and enhance operational efficiency. You implement advanced features, collaborate with cross\-functional teams to resolve complex issues, and conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high\-quality standards. You are also responsible for maintaining comprehensive documentation for application design, functionality, and processes. Your mission is to deliver robust, user\-centric applications that drive organizational success. Your work directly impacts business operations by providing innovative software solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness. As a specialized technical expert in application engineering, you focus on the delivery and implementation of advanced software solutions. You leverage your expertise to identify challenges, conduct research, and develop cutting\-edge applications to address complex technical issues. You apply broader technical knowledge of application engineering to deliver results that directly impact your job area. You make decisions regarding your work and priorities, often guided by precedent or documented procedures with some interpretation. You are responsible for guiding and reviewing the work of other professionals, offering guidance on non\-routine or escalated issues. You work independently in adherence to policies, quality and compliance standards while having work reviewed as needed. Your Responsibilities: • Lead end\-to\-end development of backend microservices using Java 8, Java 17 and Spring Boot. • Design and implement event\-driven integrations using AWS SQS, SNS, and Lambda. • Own service deployment and infrastructure management on AWS EC2, with IAM policy governance. • Write clean, well\-tested, production\-grade code with a focus on scalability and reliability(Junits \& Acceptance Testings). • Collaborate with product and architecture teams to define technical scope and delivery timelines. • Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers. • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a root\-cause\-first mindset. • Participate in on\-call rotations and contribute to incident response processes. Required Skills \& Qualifications Core Backend • 6–9 years of professional software development experience. • Strong proficiency in Java 8, Java 17 — streams, lambdas, concurrency, and the Collections API. • Hands\-on expertise with Spring Boot — REST APIs, dependency injection, and configuration management. • Solid understanding of Spring Data JPA for ORM and SQL query design. • Working knowledge of SQL — query optimization, schema design, indexing. AWS Cloud Services • Practical experience with AWS SQS for message queue\-based communication. • Ability to design and deploy AWS Lambda functions for event\-driven and serverless workflows. • Familiarity with EC2 instance management, auto\-scaling groups, and security groups. • Understanding of AWS IAM — roles, policies, and least\-privilege access patterns. Security \& API Standards • Solid understanding of OAuth 2\.0 and JWT\-based authentication flows. • Experience implementing secure service\-to\-service and user\-facing API auth. Microservices Architecture • Proven experience designing and building distributed microservices systems at scale. • Deep understanding of inter\-service communication patterns — synchronous REST and asynchronous event\-driven messaging. • Experience with API gateway patterns, service discovery, and load balancing in a microservices topology. • Ability to handle cross\-cutting concerns such as distributed tracing, centralised logging, and circuit breaking (e.g. Resilience4j). • Understanding of data consistency strategies — eventual consistency, saga pattern, and idempotent consumers. • Exposure to Redis for caching or distributed locking. Good to Have • Docker — containerising applications and writing production\-ready Dockerfiles. • Kubernetes (K8s) — deploying and managing workloads on EKS or similar managed clusters.
