  • Partner closely with Service Desk staff to triage and resolve incoming application incidents, document diagnostic steps and findings, and build knowledge base articles to improve first-contact resolution.
  • Partner with departmental customers to analyze workflows, identify enabling technologies, define functional requirements, and develop data flows and targeted improvements for line-of-business applications.
  • Administer application controls in alignment with the City’s Information Security Program; apply data classification schemes, security, and regulatory compliance frameworks where applicable, audit access methods, and assist departments in identifying and mitigating risks from unapproved software tools.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive line-of-business application documentation, including system owners, dependencies, access and authorization methods, data retention rules, and license compliance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the following: 3+ years in the IT industry/education.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting business software, conducting root-cause analysis, and managing incident triage through a ticket management system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to author clear technical documentation/procedures and translate complex technical concepts for non-technical departmental users.
  • Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving abilities, paired with proficiency in modern productivity tools (Google Workspace, MS Office) and advanced spreadsheet skills for testing, reporting, and data validation.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience or familiarity with modern ticketing platforms such as HaloITSM (HALO).
  • Familiarity with application diagramming, application architecture, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Exposure to formal change management practices and release management workflows.
